Bought this smoker to replace the previous version Weber (model 2820), which I enjoyed for several years. Use the new arrival to smoke a turkey for Christmas, and everything worked like a champion. Two major improvements I noticed were increased pool of water capacity, and the new larger door, which makes the addition of coal and water easier. I recommend this smoker.
I bought this smoker after a long search. I have always been the "grill master" in my family, but never invested in a smoker. After using the Web site of Weber and a few other websites devoted to cooking smoker, I was able to successfully Smoke 2 whole chickens the first time! The chickens were moist and had the most delicious, delicate, smoky favor!
I was so confident in my abilities, that a few weeks later (and after much searching) I had a barbecue at my house and smoked 15 pounds of chicken, 4 slabs of ribs, pork shoulder and 2! I had to stay awake all night before (off and on), but the thermometer and the ease of use in addition to coal has made it much easier ... I received rave reviews for my meat to barbecue the next day!
