With its enhanced design, including improved navigation, coverage, pickup, and filtration, this vacuum-cleaning robot makes it easier then ever to clean floors throughout the house--hands free. Simply press the "clean" button and the unit will vacuum the whole floor on its own, adjusting automatically to any floor surface including wood, tile, linoleum, rugs, and carpet. The vacuum's dual, high-speed, counter-rotating brushes pick up everything from tracked-in dirt by the front door to food crumbs on the kitchen floor to pet hair throughout the house.
It also provides anti-tangle technology with auto reverse, innovative spinning side brushes to ensure thorough cleaning in corners and along baseboards, and a gentle-touch bumper that senses obstacles so that it can slow down and carefully clean around them. The unit's dirt sensor will direct the cleaning time and focus where it's needed most, and its low-profile design means easy cleaning under beds, couches, and other hard-to-reach areas. Another thoughtful detail includes its ability to schedule preset cleaning times--great for coming home to a clean house after a long day at the office. Even more, the cleaner comes with built-in cliff sensors that prevent it from falling down stairs and a Virtual Wall system, which allows for setting up invisible barriers that confine the unit to a designated area. The vacuum's large dustbin empties easily, and its improved filtration system traps dust, pollen, and other allergens, helping to ensure only clean air gets released back into the room. Received a model 550 for Christmas 2007. Had always dismissed as a joke techno. Not anymore. It 'a really good job on the carpet, like our bulky, noisy and vertical works best hard surface floors. Our feet vomited loose items on the hard surface - Roomba sucks them. This model can be programmed to perform when you are away or at night. It 'very quiet, unlike uprights so if you use while you're at home you can barely hear it. Become places that usually does not empty with an uppercut. When was the last time you vacuumed under the couch and bed? The Roomba is 3 "tall and comes under the beds, the sofa and cabinet. We have a short hair cat and Roomba collects hair very well. It takes between 45-60 minutes to do a room. The garbage Cup should be emptied after each room. Easy to remove. The garbage Cup has two compartments, one for debris and one that has a dust filter. Unlike our feet, going crazy until the fish out as a solid pin map, the Roomba power sucked two of them in the area of rubble this morning, no noise. I turn over and remove the hair, etc. string from the brush after each use. There are two ways to restrict it to one room. The first is to close in the room. If a room has no doors, the second is to use what they call the "lighthouse" [w including 2 / 550], which emits a signal and creates a boundary. Roomba transitions from the surface difficult to fatigue mats area. We have learned to collect small mats after a time it was stuck in front of the kitchen sink. aspirated and also got stuck on a rope from the blinds. Others do some small collection of small objects that you would anyway with an uppercut , which saves time and effort and does a very good job. We love it!
